trait snapshot:
changeable, in the middle, suspicious, somewhat traditional, dislikes chaos, down to earth, group oriented, practical... you scored in the middle on the overall factors of this test.

You too can Take The Test.
Interesting, no?

But note to self: must retake test later at least once and compare results. Why does scoring 'in the middle on the overall factors of this test' feel so weird?

just a quick one

I don't feel like I have the patience to properly distill today's developments into the rather exhaustive format I've set as precedent for myself, but I'll just mention a few things and if people comment about any of it as particularly interesting, I'll happily expand on the topic tomorrow.
So...

About 19 million bicycles were sold last year. The US hasn't seen that kind of enthusiasm about non-automotive transportation since the oil embargos in the early '70s, at which time some 20 million bikes were sold in a year. Also on that note, Ford has finally stopped making the fucking monstrous Excursion - you know, the BIG SUV with a 44 gallon fuel tank and 9200lb curb weight. *shudder*

Nexcare makes Band-Aids with a Duct Tape appearance.

Vodka Kalashnikov is based on a recipe approved by the deisigner of the AK-47 and bottles of it are shaped like the famous rifle. Tommy Guns Vodka is sold in bottles shaped like... you guessed it: a tommy gun.

The Gray Kangaroo is a $30 liquor filter that can, according to reviews, turn a $6 bottle of vodka into something as drinkable as a $20 bottle of vodka. Hmm... calculating the rate of investment return on that one...

Cassette deck? What cassette deck?

So yes, this seems absolutely silly at first. A cassette adaptor for an iPod is at best a manifestation of the general willingness amongst people these days to settle for mediocre audio quality, but they've been around pretty much as long as iPods have. So why in the world would it be a good business idea for Griffin, maker of some pretty cool iPod gadgetry, to make a new cassette adapter? Well, basically, because now everyone who actually still uses a cassette deck but has an iPod needs this adapter.

It enables the controls of the tape deck to control the iPod. Sweet, eh? Yeah, I mean, you pause the tape and it'll actually pause the music. Fast forward, rewind, and it'll actually do it. Now I'd like to know why they didn't do this in the first place... especially since this only costs $30, I can't imagine it has required a major technological breakthrough. Maybe just lazy manufacturers? Maybe nobody has a tape deck anymore?
*sigh* I just can't wait for a CD that does this. Yeah. Wirelessly. Wouldn't that be pretty freakin' awesome? Yes. Yes it would be. Thank you.
